Description | Photograph of U.S Army Detachment A of the 108th General Hospital and Nursing Staff outside Park Hospital during World War II.
On the 8th November 1943 Park Hospital was transferred to U.S.Army Detachment A of the 108th General Hospital. British civilians under contract to Lancashire County Council continued to provide laundry, engineering, building and ground maintenance services. On the 24th January 1944 the station hospital relieved detachment A of the 108th General Hospital. On 11th July 1945 Lt. Colonel John D. Morgan formally handed Park Hospital back to Lt. Colonel Ben Osborne of the British Army. |
