Josiah Potts, James Stelfox (and ) Richard Clark do swear that (we) will faithfully, impartially and honestly according to the best of my skill and ability execute and perform the several trusts, powers and authorities vested and reposed in me as a Commissioner by virtue of an act for inclosing land in the Township of Sale in the Parish of Ashton on Mersey in the County Palatine of Chester according to equity and good conscience and without favour or affection prejudice or partiality to any person or persons whomsoever help me God. The above oath was duly administered to the above named Josiah Potts, James Stelfox (and) Richard Clark at the first meeting of the Commissioners for carrying the above mentioned Act into effect on the 7th day of May 1805 before the said Josiah Potts, James Stelfox (and) Richard Clark acted as such Commissioner.
